The “Sustainable cropland and forest management in priority agro-ecosystems of Myanmar” project (the SLM-GEF project) implemented in Myanmar with the financial support from Global Environment Facility, has been innovative to implement its activities in the time of COVID-19 pandemic. The project followed the government’s orders and Ministry of Health and Sport (MOHS)’s COVID-19 prevention guidelines while implementing project’s activities in five pilot townships in three agro-ecological zones – Kanpetlet and Mindat in Hilly/Upland Zone, Kyaukpadaung and Nyaung-U in Central Dry Zone (CDZ) and Labutta in Delta/Coastal Zone - to continue supporting rural communities under stringent COVID-19 restrictions. This issue of the newsletter will cover the SLM-GEF project’s status and progress from September to December 2020.
